Looking at the size of the crowd that made their way through ankle-deep mud to the Xbox 360 stage,Passion Pit has an enormous fan base, and Austin is certainly a part of that. Screaming, waving, clapping—even fainting—the mud-covered fans welcomed the band on stage. Michael Angelakos (lead vocals/keyboards), Ian Hultquist (keyboards/guitar), Ayad Al Adhamy (synth/samples), Jeff Apruzzese (bass) and Nate Donmoyer (drums) all out out a solid set, and the girls in the crowd seemed to adore Angelakos in particular. I hate to say it, but these New England boys are like the Jonas Brothers of the electro-pop—and if you’re in their shoes, that might or might not a good thing. They get you dancing though. That’s for sure.
