Day three of the Austin City Limits Festival featured the British band White Lies, with Harry McVeigh (lead vocals, guitar) Charles Cave (bass guitar and backing vocals), Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums) and Tommy Bowen (keyboards). The band only formed in 2007 and has gained a ton of pop buzz in Europe. They actually won the 2009 BRIT’s critics choice award. That said, they didn’t disappoint the crowed at ACL. I think they’ve definitely gained some ground here in Austin.
