Once again, Perez Hilton’s by invitation only “One Night In Austin” SXSW Party was a big success. The lines outside the abandoned Whitley printing press warehouse must have been an indication of how immensely popular this party is with the SXSW crowd. There was nothing fancy about the venue, just a lot of concrete but this night there were smoke machines, lights, DJs and of course the stellar line up of artists. The list included: DJ Atrak, Soko, Sliimy, Macy Gray, Mike Posner, VV Brown, Agnes, Alphabeat, Marina and the Diamonds, Snoop Dogg, Estelle and Courtney Love with Hole.

Perez introduced each band and seemed to have been genuinely a part of having made the band selection for this night. After each introduction, he would jump off the stage and stay in the photo pit listing and texting about the artist that was playing. During Swedish euro-disco singer Agnes set, the sound system seemed to experience several problems which caused her to have to restart her songs several times. This was regretful because people quickly loose attention when this happens.

The most anticipated performance was of course that of Snoop Dogg, and he did not disappoint the fans. Snoop’s security guards were standing in the photo pit, and the number of photographers allowed in was almost cut in half.

Next up was Estelle and Courtney Love with her band Hole closed out the night. Although Hole is booked as a reunited Hole, there are no original members in the band other than Courtney Love. It was almost 2 a.m. and the audience loved the new and improved grunge-rocker Courtney with her green hose and red shiny shoes. Once again, Perez put on a great SXSW party!
